Wishing You Sunshine

I am sharing another quick card I created to play along with Atlantic Hearts, luv this sketch! I also wanted to play along with the colors from The Color Throwdown, my good friend Wanda is hostessing this week. I really like the color combo, she is stretching me a bit with the razzleberry...lol. I actually had to use another purple, I do not have many purples....*grin*. When you put green with purple, I can make it happen then..lol. This is mainly an all SU card, except for the sentiment. I pulled out those forgotten felt flowers, to vamp them up a bit, I added white gesso, stickles, and a sweet gemstone to the center. That is all from me tonight, I think...lol....have a good one...enjoy!

Best Dad Ever

Happy weekend friends, I had to play along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash, I discovered it this morning. Now, I cringed at the thought of making a card in 10 minutes when I fist read the details...lol. I was skeered....lol..I then read you can get your supplies together first...whew....I am not sure if you are like me but the process of what to use is the most time consuming and really the most fun. I was relived when I read that and thought, "I can do that". I did it! 8 minutes 20 seconds, wow, I am very impressed with myself. I used of course a CAS sketch and knew my card would be very CAS, but that is fine. I wanted a sweet, light, and fun card for my father for Fathers Day. I think it turned out perfect! I am soooo very proud of him, he has made some life changing decisions this year and I could not be happier for him! I have always been proud of him, but I gleam with excitement for him now....I Love You Daddy! He doesn't read my blog or even get on the Internet but I had to write that..teehehehe. Hope your day is a fabulous one...enjoy!

You're Kind of Cute

I wanted to play along with the My Mind's Eye Challenge, I luv the mix of patterns and colors.  I do not have any MME embellishments and add-ons, so I used only MME papers. I also wanted to play along with Chic Challenges, I luv the sketches they share. The sweet sentiment is from the Avery Elle set Lots of Love. I kept it simple, adding a row of hearts and one tiny gemstone. I hope you have a super day...enjoy!

Verve Diva Dare

Puddles of Colour, June Diva Dare

Good morning Verve fans, it is Teresa and I am sharing my take on this months dare. This month's dare pays tribute to Diva Jen (Deconstructing Jen) and Diva Janelle (Rain Puddles Design) both have an amazing eye for color. Jen's coloring is phenomenal and Janelle's showcases mixed media like no other. So what we're daring you to create this month is a card using colouring and/or painting.  If you want to kick the dare up a notch, you can add kraft card stock to the mix (Jen's specialty) and/or make a mixed media card (Janelle's specialty).  Here is the link to Splitcoast Stamper's "Mix It" Forum for some tutorials and ideas on Mixed Media should you want to try it out.  This is not a requirement but a fun "extra" should you wish to add it to your card. Just remember to use at least one Verve product on your creation! You can see me post and take the Verve Diva Dare here!

I have dabbled a tiny bit with mixed media so I answered the dare using mixed media using bolder colors. I have used Tim Holtz distressed paints for the background piece of paper, the color is pickled raspberry, luv that name...lol.  I added a little spun sugar on top to tone it down just a bit, still leaving it with a very rich color. I really like gesso, even though I only know how to use it one way. I made my own stencil by punching out circles from a solid piece of mask. I then rubbed the gesso over the holes, layering it on sorta thick...I luv this look! I  stamped the sentiment using the Verve set Let It Be and the flower was stamped cut out and sponged; it is from the set On Occasion. I completed my card by adding the Verve ribbon from the Black Beauty Collection, and a few gems. The sketch is one of Jen's from Deconstructed Sketch. I hope you are inspired and I cannot wait to see how you answer the Puddles of Color dare!

Stamps: Let It Be and On Occasion(Verve)
Paper: White Card Stock and Yours Truly Designer Paper(Echo Park)
Ink: Jet Black Archival(Ranger), Pickled Raspberry, Spun Sugar(Tim Holtz Distressed Paints),  Sweet Pea(Color Box Crafters), and Gesso
Accessories: Black Beauty Ribbon Collection by Verve, SU Square Punch, Nesties Labels Fourteen  Gemstones, Stencil, Distressing Tool, Best Glue Ever, 3D Foam Squares, and Glue Dots

Mojo Monday/MOJO297-I'm Thinking of You

Good morning friends, Julee has created a fun sketch for us, I had a blast with this card. I have used the fun inspiration photo for my inspiration.  I luv yellow paired with black and gray, it really makes it pop. Speaking of yellow, have you seen the sweet ribbon collections Julee has in the Verve Store? The yellow ribbon on my card today came from the Summer Sailing Collection, I luv these colors together! And best of all, the ribbons are on sale...woohoo! You could win your very own here, check it out! I distressed a piece of card stock, by embossing, adding a little Tim Holtz paint and then sanding; a subtle look, but one I like. I have used the Verve set Take Note and the Verve Dies From The Heart and Flutterby Heart. Be sure to stop by the Mojo Monday Blog and see what the mojo makers have inspired you with today...enjoy!
