Frilly & Funkie Step x Step
I have created a gift card holder using the Tim Holtz Pocket Envelope and the Festive Greenery. At the moment the Funkie Junkie Boutique is closed and will reopen January 20, 2013. Linda is moving and it is quite the undertaking. I have used burlap and the tiny clothespin from the Funkie Junkie Boutique. There are not many steps in making these cute gift card envelopes. You can see the open cut out before gluing it together. I used scor-tape to adhere and ten added my embellishments, it was super easy to make and will be great for gift card giving thi Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful weekend...enjoy!

Merry Christmas
Good morning friend,s I am sharing my creation for this weeks Frilly & Funkie Challenge. The challenge this week is "light in the dark", I immediately thought about the soot stamping technique. Where you use a lighted candle to make a dark background on glossy paper and then stamp on it....it is such a cool technique! I used a trio of tress stamp...I have no idea who is the maker or where I purchased it. I have had them a long time. I stamped a sentiment at the bottom but it is hard to see. I added a thin layer of glitter all over the main circle panel, luv how this looks. Be sure to play along with us, this is a super fun challenge! Have a wonderful day....enjoy!

Frilly & Funkie Chipboard/Metal Challenge
Good morning, it is time for another Frilly & Funkie Challenge, it is chipboard and metal. This weeks challenge is brought to us by Marjie, here are the details...This week we're looking for two elements on the project of your choice. We want to see chipboard and metal. It can be purchased, homemade, or faux. You can use branded chipboard pieces or cut up a cereal box... choose items from the hardware store or simple household metals like staples or paperclips. Ranger's foil sheets would work too. The options are endless! We want you to be creative and can't wait to see what you share with us. I have used the gorgeous chipboard snowflakes from Melissa Frances, my metal is the cute little jingle bells. I stained the snowflake with Tim Holtz distressed stain and then covered it with white crackled paint, I was amazed at how much the stain showed through, I adore the look! I have used the Sketchbook Saturday sketch and the inspiration came from The Shabby Tea Room. I had a blast with this weeks challenge....enjoy!

Frilly & Funkie Step x Step-Let It Snow
Good morning friends, I am sharing this weeks Step x Step over at Tje Frilly & Funkie Blog. I am sharing some of the gorgeous and shabby Melissa Frances embellishments. I adore snowflakes and Melissa Frances has some chipboard snowflakes that you embellish yourself(they are sold out now), so sweet!
This is right after I lifted the paper, I was not worried about the edges; it does not have to be perfect to be shabby. I want to distress the ends anyway with ink, so bare cardboard will be covered in a shabby fashion.
I also covered them with Tim Holtz glitter and then I added the Melissa Frances paper garland to the center; and yes it is pink! A little more frilly and girly.
I completed my card with more goodies from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, the lace trim,
Melissa Frances Chrismtas Flashcards , and the pink ribbon. The pink ribbon is what some of my goodies where wrapped in when I placed my order, I surely can't waste it...teehehehe. The pink jingle bells I also made, spray painted them and covered them in Glossy Accents, and the Tim Holtz glitter. I am so luvin the pink, a true frilly..*grin*. Have a super day and be sure to stop by The Funkie Junkie Boutique and pick up your Melissa Frances goodies today!

Frilly & Funkie Challenge/Anything But A Card
Good morning, it is time for another Frill & Funkie challenge, this week Sue has brought us a fun challenge. Here are the details in her words.....
"It's time to let your imagination run wild, you could be thinking of a 3D project, an altered item or keeping it simple with a tag but there is a twist! You must include somewhere to hide something, this could be a flap, an envelope, a pocket or even a gift box with something inside! Have fun!"
Of course I went with a tag, I am wanting to keep up with Linda's 12 Tags of Christmas; I am having such a blast playing along! She also having a give away on her blog...here.
I have used a library card for the main focal point of my tag, covering it with TH distressed tattered rose crackled paint and then a spritz of Mr Huey's mist. I stitched the library card to my base, added the glittered snowflakes, and the seam binding ribbon tied with my glittered pink jingle bells....swoooon! I actually made these myself; spray painted them and then covered with glitter....totally luv! I cannot wait to see what you create and what your twist will be...so fun....enjoy!
Stamps: PTI
Paper: Very Vanilla Card Stock, White Card Stock, Lost & Found Designer Paper(My Mind's Eye)

Frilly & Funkie Staurday Step x Step:Snowflake Rosette Tag
Good morning F&F friends I am sharing today's step x step. I have made a tag, you know Linda is challenging us to the 12 Tags of Christmas, I hope you can join us here. I was inspired by the snowflakes. I wanted to make snowflake rosettes very cute I think!
I have cut out the rosettes using the Tim Holtz Mini Rosettes Die. I luv placing all of my elements on my work table; this is the designing process and most of us luv it!
I have folded all of the rosettes and glued the circle pieces to the rosettes. I cut the snowflakes from a heavy duty watercolor paper, I luv he texture of this paper.
I am adding the Tim Holtz glitter here....did I tell ya how much I luv this glitter..... A LOT!
Here is my tag, after I have used the Tim Holtz distressed stain.
I stamped the tree image, luv these trees! Added the piece of burlap and stitched it place. Preparing to place the rosettes and add the ribbon and burlap bow.
A perfect Christmas tag, especially for the men in your life. Not super fancy, but yet very homey and handmade. I have used the Verve sentiment from the Glad Tidings set. Be sure to stop by The Funkie Junkie Boutique and check out the new arrivals and must have tools, stamps, ink, and embellies!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas/Tag 1
I am soooo thrilled about this post...Linda from The Funkie Junkie Boutique challenges us to the 12 tags of Christmas. I luv making tags and we have twelve weeks to get them completed and yes that means it is only twelve weeks before Christmas! No panicking yet....lol..we have plenty of time to prepare! I adore Linda's first tag and for some reason wanted to make mine with red...the heart was screaming red to me. I used one of the fabulous tin hearts from Linda's boutique...I adore these! Of course I had to add a sweet rhinestone to my heart. The wings are from the Sizzix TH Heart and Wings die. I have painted the tag with Crackled Distressed paint, stamped a few background images, added the sentiment and berries. I am somewhat happy with how it turned out...lol. Be sure to check back Saturday, I will be sharing my Step x Step using more awesome products from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. My sentiment is from the Verve set Glad Tidings and I loosely used the Sketchbook Saturday sketch for my tag. Hope you have a wonderful day...enjoy!

Frilly & Funkie Challenge/Canvas
Good morning peeps, it is time for another Frilly & Funkie Challenge, this weeks challenge is be hostessed by Linda, here is what she says about her challenge.
Challenge Theme: Get Crafty With Canvas - I love using textiles in my art and canvas is such a fun and versatile fabric to use. You can die cut it, emboss it, dye it by spraying or dipping. You can use it in its raw state, coat the reverse side with gesso or multi medium to prevent fraying or use the sticky back kind. You can stamp on it and make embellishments (flowers :) with it. Oh, so many fun ways to use it in our art. How are you going to use canvas for this challenge?
I went with stamping on it and distressing it....I adore distressing, I just had to see those fibers...lol. I used the gorgeous lace from The Funkie Junkie Boutique, ribbon, and some gemstones. I can't wait to see what you create...enjoy!

Saturday StepXStep:Burlap Envelope
This is the finished sweet and simple burlap envelop/gift satchel. I can't think of anything that goes any better together than burlap, a flower, and a rusty heart, can you?
I started with a piece of burlap, size 8x8; but you can use any size depending on how small or large you want your finished envelop to be.
I then used Scor-Tape to adhere it all together. I folded up the bottom corner, added the tape strips and then folded in the sides.
Here is a photo with the sides folded in and the top flap still open.
You can use a old safety pin, a tiny clothes pin, a button with a piece of twine, or a simple glue dot to hold the flap down. Decorate until your heart is content, I kept mine simple and sweet. Be sure to head over to The Funkie Junkie Boutique and pick up your supplies to make your very own envelopes. These would be perfect this Christmas for gift cards, too cute!
