Skipping Stones Stamps/Sketch-Autumn Wishes

This is for this weeks Skipping Stones sketch, SSD44; I used the pumpkin from the Skipping Stones set Happy Halloweenie.  Be sure to check out the Skipping Stones stamp sets, they are fun and fabulous!  I paper pieced the pumpkin and the banner with Cosmo Cricket Wanted designer paper.  The Autumn Wishes sentiment is computer generated.  This is rather simple, I added embossing, scrungie ribbon, and a ric rac piece of designer paper.  Be sure to head over to the Skipping Stones Blog and check out the other DT's amazing cards.  I hope you have super day...enjoy!

Curtain Call Colors-Operation Write Home

Good morning all, this is a long post but I have some exciting news to share and the information here is important.  The awesome news is that I have the humble and honored opportunity to help Operation Write Home Celebrate there birthday this month.....yippie!  I am going to encourage you to play along and submit your cards to OWH.  They are having challenges everyday and prizes, you can read more about that here.  My challenge is up tomorrow and of course there will be prizes, you will have two chances to win.  I have made a birthday card today to wish OWH a very happy birthday!  I have made two cards, the first card cannot be sent to OHW, it is square.  There are guidelines you must follow when submitting your card to send to the soldiers, sending only A2 cards is one of those guidelines....you will need to go here and read all about that.  I also tend to make my cards a little cas(plainer) because of the whole shipping thing.  Remember these cards will be shipped at least three times.
I have used this weeks Curtain Call Colors Act47, they are great manly colors.  I was thinking about the women who serve when I was making these.  I made my own ticket, I do not have a ticket die yet(notice I say yet...hehehehe).  I took kraft paper and cut it to the size I wanted, clipped the ends with my SU punch, and then distressed the ends.....so easy!  These fit  Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge, ssnotime156; challenge, to make it manly.  I also used the sketch from OCCSC31 a week or so back, the stamps are Skipping Stones Designs, luv this cake!

For this card I used the same Curtain Call Colors and the sketch from Taylors Sketch Challenge, TESC127.  I flipped the sketch and used all Verve stamps on this one.  Be sure to give the Curtain Call DT some luv and I cannot wait to see what you create, you have plenty of challenges to get your mojo flowing.

Cool Caribbean + Peach Parfait = Shabby

This is for the Card Patterns Sketch #78,Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge, ssnotime154.  The inspiration piece has more of the clean lines, but this is what is the after math of my creative thinking....lol. ..sometimes my creations do not end up the way I first envision.  Does this happen to you?  I used another Verve Plain Jane Proverbs 3:5 and a little swirly stamp from Artful Elegance.  I embossed, stitched, added trim and dyed ribbon.  The beautiful flower is from my awesome birthday stash, it is a Prima.  Be sure to hop around my blog I have added several posts today....have a super splendid weekend....enjoy!

We The People say, Thank You!

Happy Friday, wow I have so waited for this long weekend.  I am so happy to bringing you my final creation has a guest with Sharon at No Time To Stamp.  I have had a wonderful time creating side by side with the talented women on her team....thank you!  This weeks challenge, ssnotime141, you are to create something using the colors from your countries flag, of course mine is the great ole USA!  I do not have any stamping on this card, I wanted to make a card to thank all the men and women who have served our country in the military, for that I am grateful!  I created the "We The People say, Thank You" sentiment on my computer using WORD.  I added a glass glitter star, I purchased the glass glitter on ETSY from this fabulous shop.  I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge, MTSC75.  Have a wonderful weekend...don't forget to say thank you to a service man or women or both!  Enjoy.

Thinking Of You-Fabric Flower

Happy Friday, to you....do you have a big weekend planned?  Whether you are going all out this weekend or taken it easy, I hope it is a good one!  I so look forward to the weekends and then one is no different....hehehe.  Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge, ssnotime137, is to use 3D flowers on your creation.  Those little babies sure are hot now, there are so many ways to add 3D flowers.  I want to share with you how I made my fabric flower for today's card.  I will add it to my list of "data digs".  I have not seen any like the on I made today, but hey that does not mean that it is not out there.  I cut the flower blossoms using the SU Bigz Flower Fold Die.  I cut four flower petals, I folded them over and glued them all together.  I then took a long piece of fabric about 1" wide and 20" long.  I started folding it in the center and rapping it all the way around.  Gluing it as I go so that is stays together. I then glued the center of the flower on top of the petals; I attached the sentiment tag and adhered to the card.  I used a SU stylist to curl the tag and give it a wave.
This is also the my final week as the guest for Sketch Girl, I hope you will add the Sketch Girl Blog to your challenge list and play along.  You have a choice this week with the sketch, I chose squares.  I adore square cards, so this one was super fun.  I used Jenni Bowlin designer papers and added a tag and stitching.  Be sure to head over the the Sketch Girl Blog and check out the other gals creations.  Enjoy!
Be sure to check out the fabulous 3D flower creations Sharon and the DT designed.

I also want to share my card I made for the Splitcoast Fan Club Theme of Vintage, CT0410 this is really hot now.  I also wanted to use the sketch that Mary Jo offers on Monday's, TSSC117.  I really did start with this sketch, I know it is not exactly, but hey I have always been one to tweak sketches..lol....even my own!  I played along with  Jenny in her first Wee Memories Challenge, WMC1; it is an inspiration..  When I saw the photo of the umbrella, boots, and flowers I knew I wanted to play along.  I wish I could play with every challenge, everyday but it is next to impossible, there are so many challenge blogs out there.  I do like the variety and it keeps us motivated and moving forward, so for that I say thank you!
My card today, has no stamping, can you believe it?  I used a quote that I found on line and printed it in Word and I must say I luv it.  I sure would like to have it in rubbah...hehehe.  The umbrella card is a flash card by K & Company, they are so adorable.  I used an old piece of a book page for a tab and added a button.    I hope you are having sunshine in your world today!  Enjoy.

Congratulations

Happy Friday, aren't the weekends fabulous?  I know they are at our house, we are usually on the motorcycle by now.  DH is still recovering and won't be able to ride until the end of May, thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes to us during this time.  We are heading back to the hospital today to have his heart shocked, please pray everything goes well.
I have for you Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge, to make a graduation/congratulations card.  If you do not need either you can make an end of the year/treat creation.  You can get all of the details from Sharon's Blog, ssnotime134.  This is also for Amber's Viva la Verve, VLVAPR2010 sketch with a living room inspiration photo.  I made a square card and rotated it to suit the sentiment.  I used the SU sentiment stamp from the set Well Scripted.  The stars are from the Verve set Polka Stars.
I finally got some of the oval nesties these are Labels Ten, super cute scallop shape on the ends.  I hope you can play along with us on both challenges, be sure to check out the DT's samples from Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge, these gals are wonderful!
