mojo monday/mojo472-kindness is a beautiful thing

a fun card to create, I created a watercolor splash using mixed paints to create the peachy color. I used a polka dotted stencil and added glitter dots, luv the way it looks! I then added some ink splatter, a little strip of silver glimmer paper with the kraft, I luv it! The sweet sentiment is from the verve set kindness matters. The big ole' die cut heart and a large size gemstones...lots of fun!

I luv making quick cards for christmas, it seems I have so many to make...last year I fell short and I am trying to do better this year. I have painted the watercolor background and then added a my mind's eye chipboard tree from the sugar plum collection. I added some stickles and then some pretty pink posh sequins. I added twine, white ink splatter, and white enamel dots.

start somewhere.

I could not wait to use the reverse confetti blooms n buds and blooms n buds confetti cuts. I have used layered blooms and dies before and sometimes find them hard to use. These are so amazing and easy to layer and cut...I luv them and know I will be using the quite often. I have used simon inks for the flowers and stems; hot lips, pale blush pink, hollyhock, willow, and catkin. I have used heidi swapp primrose shine and hero arts gemstones.

words with meaning - sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.

hop to stop-every day with you is a gift

Today's card is all about raising awareness against domestic violence, the amazing becca cruger had put it all together and there are prizes too. I have used the gorgeous altenew flower beautiful day. The background was created with ken oliver starburst..so vibrant and pretty! The uplifting sentiment is from hero arts set called you are my happy. I thought it was fitting for any of us who need to hear those words! Play along to help becca share and help put a stop to domestic violence!

sketch and scrap: world card making month/sketch#2

You see, purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet.

Women between the ages of 15 and 44 are more likely to be injured or die as a result of domestic violence, than through rapes, muggings and car accidents combined.

And women aren't the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender - gender doesn't matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.

And yet, it's something that is rarely talked about in very public ways. It's something that's hidden and hushed. And since paper crafters are some of the most amazing people out there, some of you have agreed to make a card (or cards) to raise awareness for this issue.Together, we CAN make a powerful impact.

you are simply the best

I have used the november card kit from simon says stamp fro this card....what fun. This month's kit has an awesome embossing folder, stickles and copper ink...so pretty. I embossed the piece of paper, covered it with the copper ink, and then added the stickles randomly to the flowers...I luv it! The gorgeous plaid background paper is in the kit too. you can get your card kit every month by signing up here to insure you get yours. this months kit is available here while supplies last.

mojo monday/mojo471-glory to the king

I was inspired by the curtain call image, I went with the colors and created a christmas card. I did not send many handmade christmas cards last year, but I plan on it this year..so I will be adding to that pile. I have used the awesome sentiment from the new verve set, angel voices. I used the verve cut above star dies called, starry die. I have used gold wend vecchi embossing paste and a circle stencil and gold shimmery watercolor paint for the background. I embossed the stars and added a view gold gems. I really luv all the ivory with the gold!

to think of you is to smile

I was determined to play with the inspiration photo from just add ink...I have started, completed, and given up on at least three cards already...lol. This was one of the hardest inspirations I have ever done. I finally just knew I was gonna use red and white and well, this is the outcome....not completely happy but I am gonna with it. I even used purple...lol..I was getting very desperate. I have used an amazing concord & 9th set called love you mean it...so many possibilities. A watercolored background using prima marketing confection pans and th distress inks for flowers and leaves. This was one of those times were I wanted to give up, but something inside of me would not let it rest...*grin*

words with meaning - let the beauty of what you love be what you do.

star of wonder

today is the last day of falliday fest introductions and I am playing along with lori's christmas candy inspiration. I immediately was inspired by my nanny's homemade potato candy...yummo! She kept a bowl out, especially at christmas! I knew I wanted to go with kraft and white and the big 'ole snowflake and glittery star in the center came along with the process...I luv the outcome! it is amazing how we can be inspired by summin as simple as nanny's homemade potato candy! The snowflake is called funky snowflake and the sentiment is from merry everything stamp set; both are from simon says stamp. I have used simon gold embossing powder to emboss the snowflake and added chunky gold(champagne)glitter to the center to spotlight the star!

words with meaning - focus on what matters and let go of what doesn't.

I used prima confections to watercolor and then added some metallic white over top for a littel shimmer. I also used tonic nuvo on top of that for a little glimmer. I played along with a couple of challenges, listed below. happy fri-YAY!
