Challenge Card

This is a card for several challenge to finish up the large order I had of sympathy cards.  I adore this CAS sketch, I have embossed the background designer paper and then stamped a filigree image from the Verve set Filigree Fantasy onto the emboosed piece in random places.  I wanted the ribbon treatment to have a bit of pop, I added a piece of ric rac under the crinkled ribbon and the added the black burlap string to the button.....I think it looks like a butterfly, what do you think?  Thanks so much to all who are sending well wishes and prayers to my dh..we are grateful!  To read about what is going on, you can go here.  Have a fabulous day...enjoy!

Mojo Monday Sketch-A Miracle

Hello friends, I am writing today's post with a very grateful heart, my husband was in a motorcycle accident on Saturday that could have landed him in a wheelchair or even death.  We are praising God today and I asked that you send up thanks to Him as well!  I was not with him, I had to work, two cars ahead of him did not have brake lights and the card ahead of him had to stop suddenly; he tried to avoid but clipped the taillight and flipped the bike and he was thrown off.  He was wearing a DOT helmet, this is vital!  He has a C4 fractured vertebra, he is in a neck brace for at least two weeks(we need to see a doctor next week), we are sooooo grateful that he is not any worse.......a true miracle!  Please keep us in your prayers, we are home and he is resting until we go to the doctor in a week.  There is a picture attached of the bike. 
Onto my card, it was made for my dh, I want him to know how much I love him and I am very grateful for him.  I used one of my favorite Verve stamps set Love Notes...I am such a romantic..lol.  I used my dh favorite colors(which also happen to be mine) made the card distressed and old looking; he really likes that too.  There are lots of feelings going into this one, it was made with tons of love!  Thanks so much for your support and prayers.  Hold those you love close and always look on the bright side of all things...if God is present there is always a bright side.....enjoy!

Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz

I am so excited to be waltzing with Waltzingmouse this month, I discovered the deets here.  The theme this month is 4th July/Americana...how fun!  What better way to celebrate the 4th of July, than with a birthday, it is Americas birthday; we recognize our birth as 1776....that is a lot of years!   I also used the Waltzingmouse sketch for the week, I die cut stars and added bakers twine, glass glitter, and buttons...these are sooo adorable!  I used the stamps from the Waltzingmouse set Fancy Phrases and stitched the edges for a bolder look.  The paper is October Afternoon 5 & Dime....have fun waltzing...enjoy!

Stampers Dream-Call Me

I am sharing a sweet little square card with you today, I adore this image.  It is by Unity and available at Stampers Dream.  It is called Call Me, it is such a bold image you really do not need a lot of fuss....I kept mine CAS(clean and simple).  I added a bit of stitching at the top, seam binding ribbon, and a flower bloomer(luv this green color) tied with a button and bakers twine.  I also adore this paper, so sweet...it is called Springtime by Echo Park Paper.  The sketch is from Sketchbook Saturday, I adore Chupa sketches.  I hope you are ready for a fabby weekend, get out and have a wonderful time with family and friends.  It is going to be gorgeous here, I do have to work Saturday; but plan on making the most of the time I have....enjoy!

Stampers Dream and Freinds Blog Hop June 2011

Welcome to the Stamper's Dream & Friends Blog Hop! I'm super excited about all the very special friends that are hopping with us today.  Michelle has asked some very special gals to join the dream team today to share there fabulous talent...thanks for joining us!  I have used my new favorite Christmas stamps....this set is from JustRite, it is called Merry & Bright ...wow...I adore the fact that you can pair it with the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments Nesties.  I stamped both ornaments and put the sentiment inside the larger one.  The smaller ornament has a place for a sentiment but I stitched inside of that one so that I could pair them together with only one sentiment.  I stamped them and heat embossed them(using Judikins embossing powder) onto BasicGrey designer paper.  The sweet trim under the ribbon is a fun find that I found the other day with my dh, we go on scavenger hunts from time to time looking for whatever catches our eye....this caught mine....hehehehe.

Bloggers Challenge

Hi peeps, I am playing along with the Embellish Challenge, it has been forevah since I played along with these gals.  I also wanted to play along with the Bloggers Challenge.....this is a new challenge for me, it is a sketch challenge this week.  I used a beloved Tim Holtz background stamp on my card and the sentiment is from the Verve set Hope Blooms.  I used some yummy trims from Websters Pages and bakers twine.  I added a button to the layered sentiment panel.  The small piece of kraft is also stamped with a background stamp, it is the bellie band that is on trims I purchase, luv keeping these types of findings and using for later, don't you?  That's it for me tonight, have a blast of a day...enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Hi, I want to share a fun challenge with you today.....today's Free 4 All, is to use those forgotten stamps.  Those stamps we had to have and have not inked up, you know you got 'em, we all do......lol.  This sweet butterfly and flourish is by My Mind's Eye Laundry Line collection.   I also used the great sketch from Inspirational Sketch.  I used my new paper from Cosmo Cricket.  And I added a tag with seam binding ribbon, the butterflies have glass glitter on them, so sweet!  i hope your day is sweet....enjoy!

Good morning Verve fans, I am sharing today my card made with Andrea's  awesome sketch.  I have used this sketch twice already, I luv it!  I am slowly but surely working my way to completing the large order that a gal placed, this card will go in that pile.  I adore this paper and let it do a lot of the work for me behind the birthday blessings sentiment.  The paper is October Afternoon 5 & Dime.  The birthday sentiment is from the Verve set  Love Deepens. I added sponging, stitching, and rounded the corners on the main panel.  I had a blast shopping with my friend Wanda yesterday......we got some new goodies....I will share later.  There is nothing better than to spend some time with friends laughing, laughter is good for ya.......happy Friday friends.....make the most of your weekend, you know they go fast and share a laugh or two with someone.......enjoy!

Good morning, I am headed out for a day of shopping with the firls......you gotta luv that!  We have a wonderful scrap booking/stamping store about 1 1/2 hours away.  It seems like a 10 min trip in the car with friends....hehehehe.  I wanted to share another card with you before I go, I have used the stamp from Stampers Dream from a new collection of images that Michelle is carrying, it is called LaBlanche.....I adore these images because they are elegant without the coloring.  Now, don't get me wrong I luv coloring(wish I could do it)but it takes lots of time so these images are perfect without the coloring.  Check them out here! 
I have used a sentiment tag collection tied with crinkled ribbon, the background tag is from Maya Roads and it is the kraft mini tags....these are adorable in shape!  I am keeping it short today as I head out for the girls shopping trip, you can do your own shopping at Stampers Dream, she has all the greatest names, Melissa Frances, My Mind's Eye, Spellbinders and JustRite....check it out....enjoy!

Stampers Dream-Sympathy Card

I have played along with a couple of challenge today, a new one fro me called The Ribbon Reel....if you are looking for a great sketch give this one a try.  I have used JustRite Stamps, I am still working on the large custom order; that is the reason for all of the sympathy cards.  I have a gal that orders tons of sympathy cards from me to always have one on hand.  This JR set is the best sympathy set I have seen, so many caring sentiments...it is called Sympathy Nested Sentiments and it is on sale.  I have used the fabulous Spellbinders Nesties Labels Twenty shapes to showcase the sentiment.  I want to let you in on a little secret, I did not think I  needed all of these shapes, but I do and YOU do too.....*grin*.....pick your up today!  These gorgeous shapes really add to your completed card, really they do.  The Spellbinders are wonderful paired with the JR sets, be sure to pick yours up today!  I added a felt butterfly that has been cut with My Favorite Things Die, so sweet paired together.  I embossed onto the gorgeous designer paper by Melissa Frances called Vintage Attic and yes it looks like it came from you Grandmothers attic...I luv that!  I hope your hump day is a good one....I am still home enjoying my time away from work......make the most of today...enjoy!

Masculine Birthday

I created this for my good friend Deb's challenge of nautical, she has a challenge at the end of every month called Last But Not Least, check it out and play along!  I luv this SU set, it is perfect for those manly creations.  I used the sketch from SCS today, keeping it on the CAS side.  I added scoring that comes out and meets the birthday sentiment.  I added stitching, distressing, and burlap string.  I changed up the shapes a bit from the originally sketch, you know me always making it my own...hehehehe.  These challenges are great to get a few manly cards completed, don't forget The Last But Not Least challenge!  Have a super day and give the man in your life a big hug and a shout out of encouragement....enjoy!

Happy Birthday

I have made this sweet little square card to try my hand at the Sketch Saturday Challenge.....the prize is an MFT gift certificate, definitely worth playing for.  I made another 4 1/4 sqaure card...these are are favorite of mine too.  They do take extra postage, but hey I think most of our cards take extra postage....lol.  I used the MFT rolled roses die to make the cute black flowers and then added a fuchsia gemstone to the centers.  A super simple card, but I had lots of fun created those roses.  Have a super evening...enjoy!

I have created this for the Waltzingmouse sketch and for the colors over CR84FN....these colors are soooo sweet together.  I have used the corrugated chipboard from Maya Road and adorned each piece differently.  I am having one of those "I don't like anything I am creating moments".....it seems like the mojo has went south...lol.  This card is 4 1/4 square, I luv this cute little size.  I added some of my favorite green designer paper and stitching.  The sentiment is from the Waltzingmouse set Fancy Phrases.  I am home so I am having fun today just creating.....my week is pretty laid back with a girl shopping day scheduled, that is always fun!   I hope your day is grand....enjoy!

Mojo Monday Sketch-#1 Dad

Good mojo Monday morning peeps...it is a gorgeous day....even if the weather is not good, it can still be a gorgeous day....you know life is what you make it!  I have changed the look of my blog and name, you can get more deets about that here......it is going to take a little time to adjust to the changes, people are having a hard time finding me...so sorry....I luv the new look and name though!  About my banner.....I adored Julee's new banner so I had Viola make up one for me.....stunning work!  Onto my card, I am sharing today a Fathers Day card made for today's Mojo Monday Sketch.....I adore this sketch...if I get to use lots of patterns then I am a happy girl...lol.  I do wish I would have stitched around the outside, I will make one for my Dad and add the stitching!  This little guy is in my Paperie Blooms Etsy Shop if you would like to take a peek.  I have used the amazing patterned paper from My Mind's Eye....this has to be my favorite papers eveah!  To make the little award I used a piece of cork and a die that has sharp ends, it really looks like a blue ribbon award.  I stamped onto the patterned paper using the Verve set Dad's Day, which is on sale for the month of June....check out the sale going on at Verve!  I hope you have a great Monday....be sure to visit the other mojo makers, the gals are amazing....enjoy!

Viva la Verve-Let Your Light Shine

Hi ya friends, it is a gorgeous day here in VA.....and to top it off I spent the morning with my creating friends.....woohoo.  These gals are always an inspiration and lots of fun!  I am sharing my second version of Amber's' Viva la Verve sketch, the first one is over in the Viva la Verve forum.  I have been in need of lots of cards lately, so I used this sketch twice.  I made this one manly for a young man we know who is graduating.  I also need a gift for a starting over shower for a great friend of mine....that it another card and gift tag.  I have made homemade sour dough bread and my strawberry freezer jam to go with the gift cards I am giving to each of these recipients.  I hope you have a super wonderful weekend....enjoy!

Hello friends, my blog is starting to take shape...I adore the new banner.  I purchased it from the super sweet and talented Viola, you can visit her shop here.  I have made a tag today playing along with some challenges.  I was inspired by the tall lighthouse over at FYI...be sure to check out the gals over at FYI, Steph is bringing to us an inspiration photo every week, it is a great way to get out of your comfort zone.  I used Waltzingmouse stamps and My Mind's Eye designer paper.  I used Tim Holtz inks to cover the tag and then added the extras.  I hope your day is great...I was inspired today by this verse.....Philippians 4:11(NKJV) Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.....being content with our circumstances, no matter what they are is a reflection of inner peace.  Make the most of the weekend....enjoy!

Stampers Dream-Happy Birthday

Hello peeps, it is Thursday and I do not have to be back to work for another 10 days....woohooo...I am soooo excited!  Also, Gary and I celebrate our 5th wedding Anniversary tomorrow, another very happy moment!  We had a wonderful weekend last weekend, we rode 520 miles on the motorcycle...it was gorgeous....a super fun time!  If you are wondering what is going on with my blog...I have changed the name and will be changing the look as well.  If you have my blog linked be sure to change the link to the new one....I wouldn't want you to miss anything!  Now for tonight's card, I am sharing a card with you using one of my favorite JustRite sets; Family Garden.  I am luvin the new cling mounted JustRite sets......check out all the great sets at Stampers Dream.  I paper pieced the flowers and added the gorgeous glass glitter and a orange gemstone to the center.  I cut the sentiment in a tag and added a button ted with Burlap String.  Distressed the edges and a little stitching complete my card.  I hope your day great.......find time to make someones day...enjoy!
