Simply Irresistable

Hello, I hope you have had an exciting Monday.....today is CAS day over at SCS. Today's CAS53, is based on the inspiration "candyland". I chose the Hershey's Tin shown here, I had to pick something from Hershey...hehehe. I used the sentiment "simply irresistible" because that is what Hershey candies are irresistible....yummy and the name of the set is Verve Chocolate Bunnies. This is also for the Frosted Designs Challenge to make a Valentine without using red or pink, I went ahead and made it manly as well. I will give this to dh on another day "just because" KWIM?
I have been playing along with PTI this week, they have so many awesome announcements and challenges. This is for the sketch and color challenge, I used these colors because my online name starts with a "v" for va.sunshine. You can get all the details here. I hope you have a wonderful evening, be sure to check back tomorrow morning; I am one of the guests for the Color Q Challenge and will be sharing this weeks colors and card! Enjoy.

Good evening, this is my first post in a couple of days, I have been busy and tired....lol..I guess they go hand and hand. I have to tell you that we are having another HUGE snowfall here in my area of Virginia, this has been one unforgettable winter.....we have so much snow and there is about two more feet to come......yeah! I hope to have some pictures tomorrow.
My cards tonight are several challenges, Mercy's Sketch Challenge, MTSC59 and The Curtain Call Color Challenge, Act 15.
I used the SU set Vintage Vogue, I stamped and cut out the flowers twice, added Stickles, and gemstones. I also used the SU Tiny Tags and added to the button and ribbon. The background stamp is Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds. I hope you like me creation and are inspired to create something beautiful for one or both of these challenges......enjoy!

A very cool technique, one I would try again. I used the PTI Blooming Button Bits and Signature Greetings. I also used the colors from The Color Throwdown #78, very sweet colors together. This is also Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch from last week, SSSC54. I used my Provo Craft embossing folder and sponged it with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distressing ink. I added a little stitching, the notebook punch, and the button with linen thread. I should have lots of new creations this weekend, the HUGE snow storm has us in for the weekend.....enjoy!

Hope

I created this for several challenges, the CCEE Stampers, CCEE1002 sketch. It is also for the Embellish Challenge to use purple, kraft, and chocolate and to use stripes. I added stripes with a marker to the right side of the sentiment. I am not sure if I like that or not, but I trying to make it work...lol. I also added stripes to the kraft piece of card stock with my scor pal. Finally, it is for the Scripture Challenge over at Patter Cross Blog, SCRC210. the first word is Hope. The scripture is a Verve stamp Psalm 31:24. I used the crystal flourish to accent the scripture panel, it came from Hope Stamps Eternal. I hope that you have a wonderful evening, enjoy!

Let It Snow.......More!

All I can say is......Woowee....we have gotten so much snow. The pictures in the post under this one, does not tell the story tonight, it snowed for over 26 hours here. I will have more pictures tomorrow after it is daylight. We do not have church tomorrow; dh and I, along with our dog Jessie will be digging us out......that will be fun! This is one of the biggest snows I have ever seen....I do luv it though. Everything is cancelled and shut down.

For my card I used the Clean & Simple Sketch #72 and the Embellish Color Challenge. I used the embossing folder I got from HSN on the top portion of my card, the chocolate dp is older SU. The snowflakes are a background stamp from Verve called Snow Wonderful as well as the sentiment. I added a few pearls, some SU dazzling diamonds and finished it off with button and twine. This is also fits Our Creative Corner Challenge, OCC to use snow or a snowflake theme. I hope you like my creation and are inspired...enjoy!

Goddies Just For You

I created this goodie box for today's WT249, to use a favorite recipe and make your project around that. One of my all time favorite goodies at Christmas is fudge, I like to make giving fudge a little special by wrapping each piece in saran wrap. I made one of the new boxes I learned how to make from my friend Kim. I cannot stress enough how super simple these boxes are and how sturdy they are after completion. If you haven' made one, try it...the instructions are here.
I soooo excited today starts my long break from work, I don't go back until Jan. 4, my girlfriend Kim and I are getting together tomorrow night to make lots of Christmas goodies. We will also be making these boxes to package the goodies in for gift giving.
I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC52. I used the Verve set Christmas In The Air and Nesting Labels 4 for the shape, I used Martha Stewart glitter, silver beads, ribbon, button, and twine.

Classic Chocolate Fudge
2 pkg.(8ounc each) Bakers Semi Sweet Chocolate

1 can (14 oz.) Eagle Brand Milk
1 cup chopped nuts

2tsp. vanilla

Melt the chocolate and eagle brand milk in microwave until smooth, add nuts and vanilla. Pour into a 8 inch square pan lined with foil. Refrigerate unitl firm, cut into squares and if you please wrap each one in saran wrap for a special gift!

Easy Peasy Box

Hey gals, I am soooo excited to share this adorable box with you. I learned to make this today from a friend of mine..........(hi Kim* waving*). She does not consider herself creative, but really enjoys crafty things......I might have her addicted before long, what do you think? She was shown how to make these boxes years ago and shared it with me today. The incredible thing about these boxes is that you only need one piece of tape to keep it together. Her and I are getting together on Friday to make cookies, truffles, fudge, and pretzel rods; these boxes will be perfect for giving away some of our goodies. Did I mention that I am off from work after Thursday until Jan. 4.....yeah! I made this one quick so I only added the snowflake with glitter, the sentiment with a button and twine, and the cute designer paper around the sides. I have added photos and instructions by each photo. If you need any further help, you can PM me from SCS, the link is here.

Take a 12 x 12 piece of card stock and fold in to meet in the center. (Picture above)

Fold up the sides to meet in the middle. (Picture above)

Showing the folded sides up on the other side. (picture above)

Cut up to the center fold on opposite sides as shown. (picture above)
Turn the folds in and pull at the center triangle and fold up over the cuts, it will hold together basically on it's own, you can add a piece of tape to both triangle tips once they are both in the center. (picture above)

Here it shows one side done, you can do the other side now. (picture above)

This is the completed bottom, you do the same for the top, placing the top over the bottom for your completed box........decorate the box to suit your needs. I would luv to see your completed box, link it back here so I can see......enjoy!

I used the SU snowflake die and then covered it with SU chunky glitter, luv this stuff! I used My Mind's Eye dp, added a sentiment, a little stitching, and distressing and my card is complete. It was hard not using ribbon, I luv my ribbon. I feel as if my card is missing something without it. I hope you like my super simple snowflake card. Enjoy!

I am thrilled to tell you that I was chosen for Chic Of The Week over at the Just Us Girls Blog. It was my card here that won the award.

Good Morning, it is time for another mojo sketch and this is a contest week, so be sure to get your card loaded to Mr Linky over at the Mojo Monday Blog by 8PM MT on Sunday, December 13.
We have had a winter wonderland in my area, I so luv the snow. I am not fond of cold weather nut truly luv snow. My card was inspired by our snowfall.
I used the Verve sets Snow Wonderful and Christmas In The Air. I used some of my favorite designer paper from SU several years ago. I have several sheets, and I must confess I have been hoarding......lol. I am out of the SU Alpine woolly ribbon, but I found this at Michael's this year and it is very similar. I used my embossing folder that I got at HSN, I have never ordered from there. After I seen this fabulous deal of embossing folders I had to have them....I know I am enabling...lol. You can find them here.
I did a little sponging, stitching, stamped the sentiment, heat embossed the snowflakes, cut them out, and popped them up.
I hope you like my winter wonderland inspired card and be sure to head over to the Mojo Monday Blog and check out the other mojo makers creations and get your fabulous creation posted for your chance in the Verve giveaway. Enjoy!
