  12. Those PS stamp set and dies have been in my to-get list forever! I like how the black color makes everything pops. My first car was a golden Toyota Corolla 1995 - passed down from my elder brother, and before that my dad! Still my most favorite car to date!

  13. That sounds like a pretty awesome first car! My first car was a 1990 red Ford Ranger. It was a great little truck! My only complaint was that it didn't have an "idiot alarm" and I left my keys in the ignition and locked myself out a few times... lol

  14. Pretty card... My first drivable car was the classic '65 Mustang Convertible, brand new. It was actually my Mom's, but once I got my license, she never saw it. Before that, I had Renault that never made it to the road due mechanical issues.

  20. After working hard and saving for my first car, I bought a used 1970 Mustang Mach I in Candy Apple Red. Jacked up a bit in the back with extra wide back tires (unless is was winter, then I had to switch to "sensible" tires!!). Wish I still had that car all these many years later. So does my 26 year old son!! Oh, the memories.

  27. Such a pretty card, Teresa, I love all the white space with the pop of beautiful color and black, so striking! My first card was a Ford Fairmount, don't remember the year exactly but I think it was from the 70's. I bought it used from my sister for 800.00 bucks and it was quite the clunker but served its purpose. My first "real car", ha ha, or I guess I should say my first new car, was a Toyota Tercel. I've been driving Toyota's ever since and they've never let me down!

  28. Sweet card! And ooh super sweet first car! My first car was a Lexus ES350. Before you think that is ridiculous, let me explain. I was 29 when I bought my first car. I had gotten my license when I was 17 but never really had the chance to drive much until I moved to do a career change. I had been working and saving for a long time. :D tfs and a chance to win! Hugs, Kristina

  31. My first car was a Mercury Bobcat (different version of the Ford Pinto) in a burnt orange color. My dad and one of his friends who is a great mechanic found it, thought it was in fabulous shape, and made a few minor repairs. I don't remember the year it was made or the bargain price they paid for it, but was really happy to have wheels. Great memories!

  32. Wow, what a generous give-away Teresa! My first car was a well used VW (gifted from my parents), but my second car (bought on my own) was a 69 mustang. Such an awesome car! My bad for not commenting more often but I follow your blog and love all your creations :)

  34. Way to rock the throwdown colors! My first car was a navy blue VW bug! I think it was a '69 model, but not 100% sure. I could squeeze into most any parking space with it! :-)

  35. Well, first let me tell you, these card its beautiful. Those flower are stunning! Love it! My first car its a 1979 Chevrolet Nova, that's my grandma gave me for college, the car actually still in use and my youngest son uses also for collage, here in my country ( I lived in Puerto Rico) the youngest has this thing with muscle car. Great memories of my "creamy" because the color! Lol

  36. Love your beautiful card! My first car was a green Rambler American. During the winter the door handle would freeze. Mom and I would have to pour warm water on it to open the door and put a brick on the gas pedal to keep it running so I could drive to school. It's so funny now to remember those days!

  37. First, I need to say that I just love your card! It's awesome!

  39. My first car was a turquoise 1962 Plymouth Valiant. It had been my grandfather's car and I bought it from my grandmother after my grandfather passed away. It was not considered a very sexy car at the time but very few of my friends had cars at that time so I became popular rather quickly.. My friends nicknamed it the Turquoise Turtle.

  40. Gorgeous card. My first car was a hand me down blue ford pinto that my Dad charged me $500 for. That was before we knew it would explode if rear ended. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  41. My first car was anything but pretty.. It was a 1974 blue Dodge Dart and it cost $500 . The ignition was Jerry rigged with a door bell switch (which I thought was neat) and the front seats were stuffed with someone else's old gym socks so you wouldn't sink down .. I loved that car 😂

  45. Your card caught my eye, even from the tiny thumbnail! So aesthetically appealing! Thanks for asking about first cars-- I've been loving reading everyone's short tales! Mine was an '86 Honda Prelude... No speedometer! LOVED that car! Used to race up and down Highway 80 cranking Bob Seger! Wonderful memories... Sigh... Thanks! :-)

  46. What fun! I like your interpretation of sketch #200.

My dad wasn't a car salesman, but he was a mechanic. So we never owned brand new cars...just used ones that were in great shape and that he knew were in excellent working condition because his customers insisted on him as their mechanic! My first car wasn't one of these beauties - it was a Ford Falcon, hand painted lime green metallic by my uncle and it even came with a matching home-made tool box (painted green as well) in the trunk! Folks saw me coming from miles away! I guess that's why my parents loved it as my first car!

  54. Such a very lovely card!! My first car was supposed to be my mothers Mazda but the day I got it the Chain drive broke. So my dad went and bought me a big blue Chevy van and I had to pay to have the driver seat fixed so it would move forward and back because my feet couldn't touch the accelerator.

  55. I'm chuckling! My first car was a '72 Green Datsun w/ a 4-speed manual transmission. I literally had to "fill up the oil and check the gas" on a daily basis. When the mosquitoes were bad (in Minnesota), I'd just turn on my car for a minute and a thick black fog would clear them away. This is all completely true stuff! LOL

How I wish I could afford to give away so many craft goodies, it must leave you with such a wonderful feeling. My first car was a Honda Civic 2Door Hatchback in red and I loved it!! I saved up for it myself with my first job in a bank and I cleaned her all the time. Not like now so many years later with our family car that is constantly filled with food crumbs and dog fur........Thank you so much for the chance to win so many wonderful goodies!!

  59. I always love Paper Smooches designs and this card is so fun and fresh looking! My very first car was a hand-me-down from my grandfather and was a 1969 Dodge Dart! (yes, I am that old...haha!) That trusty car got me through college and on a 3 month cross-country trip with not one breakdown.

  60. What a pretty card and an awesome giveaway! I am fairly new to card making so always love seeing different styles of cards, and simple projects are the best! My first car was a Toyota Camry that my grandma gave to my older brother. When he left for college I got the Camry!

  61. First car was a 1957 Chrysler Pymouth light blue. My dad got it for me when I turned 16 in 1967. I drove the thing to school and all around with a car load of friends. I was the only one in my friend group that had a car,old but it got us to where we needed to go. The funny thing about this car, the park and the emergency brake didn't work, so I always had to park on flat ground and the high school parking was on just a slight hill. What does one do, why one grabs the small 2x4 jumps out and runs to the back tire to stop the car from rolling. Then adds another to the other tire. When ready to leave one does this all in reverse order.. LOL.....

  62. I got married in 1970 at age 19 and we bought our first car, a used Chevrolet Vega. It had a standard shift which I had never driven. Every day when I left our apartment and headed for my college class, I couldn't get over the hill to get on the main road. I would start rolling backwards. Some dear lady would come from her house higher up on the hill and get me over the hump to level ground. I was shy back then, so I to this day do not know this kind lady's name. This is so funny to me now. By the way, I DID finally learn how to use the gears properly. :-)
