as you see it - be you

hello friends and happy friday....I luv friday's, don;t you? I had such fun with this card, adding a few layers with embossing paste, washi tape, and designer paper. I faux watercolored the flowers....stamp on watercolor paper with distress inks and then spritz with water. It really is a quick and easy way to get a watercolor affect. I added the cut out sentiment and a few enamel dots and enamel hearts. I hope you play along with us and have a wonderful weekend!

freshly made sketches/fms324 - me & you, love always

hi friends, I thought this weeks freshly made sketch would be perfect for the hubbys valentine card. I added a bit of a watercolor background and then starting adding elements that I have in a little stash box. well, actually I have several little stash boxes; one for valentines/love, one for christmas, flowers, leaves, hearts, stars, sentiments, and the list goes on and on. I save the leftovers from making other cards so that I can piece them together later for a fun card, I luv doing this! I added a few gold enamels hearts and dots and luv how it turned out! Be sure to stop by the rest of the teams blogs, these ladies amaze me with their talent!

sunday stamps - love

I had a blast with this card, of course I wanted to use a favorite watercolor splash background...using the gorgeous gold and magentas. I then wanted to layer is all up, using some washi tape hidden under there, a few pieces of patterned paper and then flower,s leaves, and hearts from my stash. You gotta luv your stash, i just start pulling them out and mixing them together. I enjoy doing this more than creating pieces just for a card. The love sentiment had been on my desk and I stamped over half of it while working on another project. It had been on my work table for a long while waiting to be placed on the perfect card...today was it! There is a mix of companies; simon says stamp, memory box, the stamp market, and lawn fawn. Be sure to stop by the rest of the teams blogs and see how they used these amazing colors!

They are celebrating their 50th challenge, join us for the fun! I am a true fan of the inspired by challenge, I adore the gorgoeus photos that are shared week after week....this week;'s photo is no exception, actually it may be one of my favorites! I have used none other than the gorgeous stamp from the stamp market...another favorite if mine...luv this company! This stamp is called bloomed stamp & cut bundle it is gorgoeus! I was inspired by the lights, the gorgoeus flowers, and of course the b&w stripes. I have used embossing paste, washi tape, sponging, and sequins....super fun card to create!

I had a bit of a scare with my blog this past week and wanted to give you all some helpful advice. Be sure to make yourself admin on your blog with several emails, that way if you get locked out of your blog you can get back in with the other email...you gotta remember the email though *grin*

Now onto my tip, I am sharing my beloved vintage mailbox....eeeccccckkkk...isn't it gorgeous? It is a solid wooden old mailbox with a metal numbered tag. My dh and I purchased it while pickin one day.  I store my cards that I have on hand in it along with some bags and envies.

I have taken some of my favorite designer papers and made my own cutzie file dividers. I then hand wrote on a pink paislee ticket the type of card that I would be storing behind each divider. I stapled it to the designer paper divider for a little extra awesome sauce!

What fun! I wanted to share how you can use all the amazing embellies on a card, I adore the freestyle collage look....so retro with all the patterns and colors! Most of what I used is from the Jubilee collection, the hello is the journaling cards...luv these! the monday tab is sticky notes, the date/location tab and the grow sentiment are card stock die cuts, the heart button(totally luv) is from the flair buttons, and I finished with jubilee enamel dots. Lot's of great stuff you can use on cards and not just scrapbooking or mini albums. I can't wait to see what you create for this weeks back to school challenge. Simon Says Stamp-Texture

Be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp Store!

wed-newchallenge-header

Hello friends and welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.....hump day just became a little more exciting....teehehehe.

This weeks challenge is to use texture and the design team is using Simon Says Stamp exclusive products.....check out all the products here!

Don't forget every week at Simon Says Stamp we give away a $50 voucher...woohoo...definitely worth playing for!

50dollar_voucher_600px

Let me start by saying, the using texture is one of my favorite techniques; I could seriously use texture all the time. I really get into the process of texture and more than that, I cannot take my eyes off the card once it is complete. I have used lots of different forms of texture, some are very subtle; but for me that is what I like best! On my card today I have used texture in lots of ways, embossed background, torn edges on white piece, curled down corner with a tiny piece of patterned paper to draw your attention(LUV THIS), Wendy Vecchi embossing paste, rolled edge of flower, 3d foam dots, gemstones, and glossy accents. Boy, wasn't that fun, I know I luv finding new ways to achieve texture, I cannot wait to see what you create this week! Add a little glimmer to your life.....sparkle & shine!
