eeeppp...I have a secret...I have been asked to be a guest for the freshly made sketches team...YAY! I cannot not be happier to be joining these ladies for a bit, you know I luv sketches and freshly made sketches are happening! I sure hope you will play along with us this week, just look at that sketch, it is a heart in it...squuueal..now you to not have to use a heart, but you know me..pitter patter. This weeks amazing sketch is designed by kim singdahlsen. I have created a little watercolor splash background and then I added an adorable little gc bag made with the sweet die from the stamp market called gift for you stamp and cut bundle. I stamped it with a few polka dots; so fun and then layered with a patterned paper heart cut from the lil' inker stitched heart die. A tag sentiment from pebbles and a few soft pink enamel dots. I also played along with card concept, be sure to check out the rest of the team for inspiration!

what fun I add with this little number...the inspiration photo from the card concept is right up my alley...luvin all those nuetrals! the sweet flowers are from the w plus 9 stamp set called southern summer florals 2, the leaves are from my little stash box. I have added embossing paste, sequins, and burlap twine keeping with the neutral look! the gorgoeus script sentiment is from the simon says stamp brush stoke messages...luv this script! hope you have a wonderful fall week!

choose to shine

Had to play along with a couple of challenges, I adore the inspiration photo from card concept, I was inspired by the colors and patterns. Went with a little watercolored background, using daniel smith watercolor paints. I aslo used a stencil to add embossing paste, the design reminds me of the pattern in the chairs. The stars are die cut from the awesome paper smooches star dies, this set of dies is one of my favorites, there are lots of layers and sizes. The chipboard sentiment is from a tim holtz quote sentiments, luv these too! I added a few eneamel dots and a twine bow...had a blast creating this card. I also used the fun layered sketch from freshly mades sketches.

I have used april's simon says stamp card kit for this sweet ellie...you can get the adorable stamp set, wild cuddly critters here and the amazing wooblers here. Welcome, it is time for this weeks mojo monday sketch and I luv it! I have also played along with the card concept challenge, the inspiration photo is gorgeous. I wanted to get iny and go for a mixed media look and still keep a girly look and some glitter. The heart is covered with a glittery spectrum noir pen...sweeeet! I have attached an adorable felt flower, I can't get enough of the felt embellies lately. Have a wonderful week and I hope it is full of creating!

What an amazing sketch we are challenging you to this weeks at sunday stamps...I luv it! I had to play along with card concept once again, these colors get. me. every. single. time. thud! I have used one of the new sets from simon says stamp new beginnings release, have you seen it yet? AWESOME, check it out here....this set is called friends of life. I have stamped them with tim holtz distressed ink and then added a clear layer of wink of stella over top. I heat embossed the sentiment on black card stock...a fun sketch for sure! today is full of possibilities

This post has several photos, I hope you will scroll through and read all the info. I have been asked many times how I create my watercolor backgrounds, I have tried to show the process in the below pictures. I have used the AWESOME felt from taylored expressions for the sweet flower. I really, really, luv her felt! The sentiment is from a super sweet uplifting thoughts simon set, you can see it here. The challenges I played along with are listed below. I have also added these photo to my insagram, come check me out at 2klines.

I have shown in the photo below, my papers and color combo. I am also showing a small piece of acetate, it is on the black card stock. I will use the acetate to create the background.

I take tim holtz distress ink and smash it into the acetate and then spritz with water, I usually use more water the first time for smearing.

I turn the acetate over on top of the watercolor paper and begin smearing it around, picking the acetate up and then moving it onto another piece of the paper. This is where I determine the design I want to achieve, sometimes unintentionally(*grin*)

I then will add more ink to the acetate with less water for a more vibrant ink color. If you are using two or more colors, you should allow the first color to dry completely before add the other colors.

Here is the look with another layer of ink used with less water so that the color is darker. Please let me know if you have any questions.

ur amazing

I have played along with a couple of challenges, using stamps and die from the stamp market...luv this sweet little company! I have created the fun background using the sentiments from the new stamp set ur amazing set. I used the heart die set for the heart shape and then used several altenew inks to create the background for the circle sentiment. I am luvin my new altenew inks too! I luv the sketch from crazy 4 challenges, hope you have time this weekend to play along with a few of your favorite challenges too!

be mine always

A quick valentine card for my hubby, using my new stamps from the stamp market...luv this new company! I used the background heart stamp to make a make a subtle heart background and then I used the heart die and cut out the heart shape with watercolor paper. I then sponged tim holtz inks around it. The sentiment is from a carta bella stamp and the sweet little add on sticker phrases are crate paper. I added some striped bakers twine and a couple of grey gemstones. Have a super sunday!

For todays mojo monday sketch, I have used a little watercoloring splash background and then layered it with a big 'ole heart and a sweet die cut flower. The birthday sentiment is a verve plain jane stamp, one of my favorites. It is unavailable now, but hopefully will be added to a new set soon. Super cas for me today, I really wanted to add a few more gems, but refrained!

I have played along with a couple of challenges using stamps from simon says stamp and reverse confetti. I have used the polka dotted stamp from this month simon says stamp card kit, birthday flowers. I luv using polka dots and have created a heart with the polka dotted stamp on top of the watercolor splash. I used WOW white embossing powder, very sweet! The birthday sentiment is from the reverse confetti set, with love. Add a little glimmer to your life, sparkle & shine, kindness!
