Now onto my tip, I am sharing my beloved vintage mailbox....eeeccccckkkk...isn't it gorgeous? It is a solid wooden old mailbox with a metal numbered tag. My dh and I purchased it while pickin one day.  I store my cards that I have on hand in it along with some bags and envies.

I have taken some of my favorite designer papers and made my own cutzie file dividers. I then hand wrote on a pink paislee ticket the type of card that I would be storing behind each divider. I stapled it to the designer paper divider for a little extra awesome sauce!

skipping stones design tip/technique hop

Welcome to the Skipping Stones Design Tip/Technique Hop, I sure hope you have enjoyed what everyone has shared! I am the last stop on the hop is you have started on the Skipping Stones Design Blog, if you din't be sure to start there and hop around. Heather is giving away a free stamp set to one random persons comment. You have until Wednesday, September 16 at 5:00 PM EST to comment.

I have used the Skipping Stones Design stamp set Breathtaking Butterflies, Healing Wings, and Birthday Purses.

Now, let's talk about the tip I am sharing, I have used Avery File Folder Labels to label my ink pads with the exact color for better viewing and choosing.

I cut the label in half down the middle, turn it over and press on the side of ink pad and lift.

It puts a neat color swatch on the label and then I write the name of the ink of there too and adhere to the ink pad.

I store my ink pads upset down so the ink is always to the top of pad and not in the bottom. So quick, easy, and cheap; it makes the inks looks sooooo gorgeous! Add a little glimmer to your life....sparkle & shine!

hi and Happy New Year

Of course, me first card of the year is sporting a heart and embossing paste.....teehehehe, these are two of my favorite things. I am playing along with Splitcoaststampers first challenge of the year to use something new. The Memory Box stencil I used is new and the sweet tags from Pebbles are my new favorite embellishment at the moment. I cannot stop using these sweet tags, they come in three different colors and lots of sentiments...luv! I would also like to share the SCS Cards For A Cause mission and threads with YOU.....it is a great way to give back to others. If you are like me you have tons of supplies and probably to not send every card you create...why not donate them to a worthy cause, so others can send a homemade card to offer encouragement? Help us, help others! I cannot wait to see what the New Year brings....sparkle & shine!

Merry Christmas

Good morning friend,s I am sharing my creation for this weeks Frilly & Funkie Challenge.  The challenge this week is "light in the dark", I immediately thought about the soot stamping technique.  Where you use a lighted candle to make a dark background on glossy paper and then stamp on it....it is such a cool technique!  I used a trio of tress stamp...I have no idea who is the maker or where I purchased it.  I have had them a long time.  I stamped a sentiment at the bottom but it is hard to see.  I added a thin layer of glitter all over the main circle panel, luv how this looks.  Be sure to play along with us, this is a super fun challenge!  Have a wonderful day....enjoy!

Frill & Funkie Challenge/Masks and Stencils

Good morning, it is time for another fabulous and fun challenge from Frilly & Funkie Challenge Blog.  This week Marjie is our hostess, she has challenges us to stencils and masking.  She has challenged us to use stencils or masks in your artwork.  Use a purchased item or create your own stencil or mask using positive/negative space from die-cuts, stamps or punches.  I have used the Tim Holtz die and cut it from masking sheets and then stamped around it.  I did a little sponging, added the sentiment, and sprayed with Calico White Mr. Huey's.  So sweeeeeet.....I am very happy with my end results!  I have also played along with a couple of challenges listed below.  Have a super fabulous day...enjoy!

Stampin Sisters In Christ-Love U

Good morning, I am sharing my card for this weeks Stampin Sisters In Christ challenge.  This weeks verse is 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. This weeks challenge is to try something that you might have not tried before now, examples... a new technique, a new color combo, a new style (CAS if you are a Layered stamper, or reversed).  I tried ghosting, I have never tried it before and did not get it to turn out the way I wanted it to.  I do not think my card stock was glossy enough.  The "love U" is stamped on the  ghosted part, it is hard to see.  be sure to head over to SCS and learn how to do it for yourself, it is very pretty and adds that little extra detail.....I luv the details!  I have used stamps from Verve's latest release, get yours today!  I played along with Stampin Royalty's sketch and Moxie Fab inspiration photo.  I was drawn to the colors, design, and the light fixture over the table, so I created  the pom pom bow with the gem.  Hope you have a happy day...enjoy!

Mojo Monday Sketch-Happy Birthday

Good morning mojo makers, it is time for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch, Mojo170I have been wanting to use the cream colored fabric flowers I just purchased.  I thought the half circle at the top of the sketch was perfect for one, I also added a bling embellishment.  I used the one of the Pink Paislee Ornament Elements for the sentiment....these are so elegant and fun....you can even sponge and distress them too.  The birthday sentiment is from the Verve Big Wish set.  I stitched the top panel and added silky black ribbon, the stitching is also today's TLC304 challenge.  Well, yesterday I told you that I would have a creation for everyday this week, this is Day 1, be sure to check in tomorrow for another creation!  Have a super Monday, this will be a great week...life is really what you make it, make yours fabulous...enjoy!

A Wish For Peace

To see my Verve sneak peek card scroll down one!
I am sharing a manly Christmas card with you, I think most of us struggle with manly cards.  I think I great way to help with that is to use some sort of technique.  I have used the cracked glass technique on this fabulous Penny Black stamp, it is called Wish For Peace
This is a super easy technique; stamp your image, cover entire image with VersaMark, pour Judikins Embossing Powder over entire image, heat emboss, repeat several more times, put image into freezer, take out a bend to crack the embossed layered.  You can also sponge with a darker ink to give it a more vintage look.  This is a great technique for making manly cards.  I used the open scalloped border die from My Favorite Things, a little stitching, My Mind's Eye Lush ribbon, and the sentiment tag.  I also used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, SSSC90.  I hope you have a super day,  I know you are gearing up for the weekend..I am!  I have had to work a couple of Saturdays lately, this is not my idea of fun...lol.  I will have lots of time off come the holidays....woohoo...I am super excited about that.  Have a fabulous day...enjoy!

LOVE Pocket Card With A Tag

I created this for this weeks JUGS32, the gals over at the Just Us Girls Blog have challenged us to make a Pocket CardI have had the great pleasure of being this months guest designer with the JUGS girls.  I hope you can play along with us, it is a fabulous variety challenge blog.  I made my insert part a tag, I adore tags; there is so many possibilities when making them.  I used October Afternoon Fly A Kite Designer Paper.  This paper is so yummy, I think chocolate and olive have to be my favorite color combo...anything with green looks good to me...hehehe.  I also used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches #53 for the front of my pocket card.  I played along with Jenny at her Wee Memories Challenge, WMC4; to use script.  The only stamping is script, the background of the tag.  Have a fabulous Saturday, be sure to make time to create!  Enjoy.
