Curtain Call Colors-Operation Write Home

Good morning all, this is a long post but I have some exciting news to share and the information here is important.  The awesome news is that I have the humble and honored opportunity to help Operation Write Home Celebrate there birthday this month.....yippie!  I am going to encourage you to play along and submit your cards to OWH.  They are having challenges everyday and prizes, you can read more about that here.  My challenge is up tomorrow and of course there will be prizes, you will have two chances to win.  I have made a birthday card today to wish OWH a very happy birthday!  I have made two cards, the first card cannot be sent to OHW, it is square.  There are guidelines you must follow when submitting your card to send to the soldiers, sending only A2 cards is one of those guidelines....you will need to go here and read all about that.  I also tend to make my cards a little cas(plainer) because of the whole shipping thing.  Remember these cards will be shipped at least three times.
I have used this weeks Curtain Call Colors Act47, they are great manly colors.  I was thinking about the women who serve when I was making these.  I made my own ticket, I do not have a ticket die yet(notice I say yet...hehehehe).  I took kraft paper and cut it to the size I wanted, clipped the ends with my SU punch, and then distressed the ends.....so easy!  These fit  Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge, ssnotime156; challenge, to make it manly.  I also used the sketch from OCCSC31 a week or so back, the stamps are Skipping Stones Designs, luv this cake!

For this card I used the same Curtain Call Colors and the sketch from Taylors Sketch Challenge, TESC127.  I flipped the sketch and used all Verve stamps on this one.  Be sure to give the Curtain Call DT some luv and I cannot wait to see what you create, you have plenty of challenges to get your mojo flowing.

Happy Birthday

Good morning, excuse the messy looking blog, I have a new look coming.  I am not sure if I like this new template, I hope it grows on me.  I have a simple CAS to share today, using a sketch that is very similar so I am posting both.  The Clean  & Simple, FTL98 and for Taylor's Sketch, TESC120.
I used basicgrey scraps from the porcelain paper pad, the sentiment is from Verve's Big Wish Set.  I added embossing with the SU embossing folder and a big ole button tied with linen thread.  Super simple card, but I think the patterns and textures go nice together, don't you?  I hope you have a wonderful day....enjoy!

Birthday Wishes!

Good morning, it is Saturday and I am headed to an early morning breakfast with a friend...I luv the mornings and firends!  I have created this card for my niece, today is her birthday.  Whenever I think of a her, I think fun bright colors; color makes me happy and so does she.  I stamped only the Verve sentiment from the set Big Wish and punched the butterflies.  I used the cute little book bag as my inspiration, today's IC239.  I also used Taylors' Sketch, TESC119.
I hope you have a family fun weekend planned, it is wonderful to celebrate our freedom with cookouts, parades, and fireworks.  It is a perfect time to give thanks to the men and woman in the service who protect us and our freedom....I am so very thankful.  So to all who serve and are serving I say "THANK YOU!"  Enjoy.

Spring Note Card Set

I was determined to get all of these challenges in...lol....I settled on a Note Card Set. I wanted to use the colors from The Color Throwdown #76, melon, so safron, and old olive. I adore these fun spring colors together. I was also so inspired by Kristin's note card set shown here. I used several sketches Taylor's Sketch Challenge, TESC98 from last Friday. Card Patterns Sketch #47, Stamps and Smiles Sketch, SASSC49, and Clean & Simple Sketch, FTL75. I also used today's IC216 to help me complete my note card set. I chose the pillow shown here, that's when I reached for the round puffy flowers from the Verve set Budding Blossoms. I used several punches, buttons, silver beads, stitching and a glitter pen to accent each note card. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, all of this cold weather has given me cabin fever.
