Good morning, I am sharing the new challenge from Frilly & Funkie; today's challenge is hosted by Sue, it is Alter It! Here is what Sue has to say about the challenge in her owns words......."We've all got ordinary, everyday items in our homes that would benefit from some love and attention, right? So, this is the challenge, take an ordinary item, doesn't matter whether it's been bought especially to alter or if you've got something sitting on a shelf that you've had your eye on just waiting for the right moment. Using your craft products, transform it into a piece of art, let your imagination run wild!"
I think most of you know I am getting a little crafting studio(area) makeover, it is not completed yet. The second part needs to be started and completed, my husband has been helping at our church for the last couple of weeks, that has been the hold up. But, I have been busy feeling up the area that is completed and coming up with different ways to display my creating supplies. I had this old pencil/pen box and did a little makeover on it. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I have used some fabulous goodies from the Funkie Junkie Boutique to complete my project. I painted it, added the sweet doily trim(luv this trim), the lace. and sprayed it with Mr Huey's! I will store the longer dies in it, I cannot wait to see what you alter! have a super day...enjoy!
Beautiful Teresa! Love the black and white and you know I LOVE that doily lace!
ReplyDeleteLove how you altered the pencil box, Teresa! Such a pretty piece and so funcional for storing those taller craft items. I use an old large glass jar, not altered!
ReplyDeleteLove black and white! This would look perfect on my desk...lol! Gorgeous lace as well!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pencil box Teresa, love the black and white and the doily is fab! Sue C x
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome Teresa. The black is fab with the white trim.
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteWell I have this exact same style box, but mine has silver coloured metal fittings. I have never thought to 'alter' it but I definitely will now. This is fabulous and I think it would be lovely for me too as it would brighten up my desk.
Thanks for sharing this.
Hugs Linda x
What an elegant die holder! Great idea to alter this pencil box!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love using things I've customized for my supplies. Can't wait to see how this fits into your new space!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool Teresa. I love the B/W color combo and the way you used the doily wonderful. Great work on the altering. I'm wondering what you used for the shiny, sparkly black surface? That is really cool looking. What a wonderful box to keep your dies in. Super work on the challenge this week. Keep those beauties coming!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
